SSC Announces 2015 Award Recipients

Congratulations to the following who were recipients of the 2015 SSC Awards

Michael Smith Award

Dr. Phil Tibbo
Dr. Philip Tibbo is a Professor of Psychiatry and the Dr. Paul Janssen Chair in Psychotic Disorders at Dalhousie University in Halifax. He is also the Director of the Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program for the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Board Member for the Canadian Consortium for Early Intervention in Psychosis. Dr. Tibbo is a clinician researcher with interests in biomedical and psychosocial research in psychosis.

Dr. Abraham Rudnick
Dr. Abraham Rudnick is a Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University and the Psychiatrist-in-Chief at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Ontario. He is a clinician, administrator, educator and researcher with aims to improve the lives of people with Schizophrenia and other enduring mental illnesses. He is a champion of person-centred care. His research interest in improving the lives of people with mental illness can be seen in all of his research activity.

Recovery of Hope Award

Mr. Keith Lyon
Mr. Keith Lyon recently celebrated his third year in recovery. In addition to church and volunteer activities, Mr. Lyon has been active in the Fredericton community over the last three years as a public speaker and he even became a published author in 2014.
